Transport and Chartering via VDH
BU Transport consists of two parts: Transport and Freight Forwarding (also known as chartering). In Transport, we drive with our own drivers and equipment. For chartering, we work with fixed partners throughout Europe.
That way, we can always deliver. Big or small. National or international. Refrigerated or dry. Our drivers know the routes, our planners know the customers. Short lines, clear communication, and direct action. That makes us reliable and flexible.
Four types of transport: one total solution
Container transport
We transport containers from the ports of Rotterdam, Vlissingen, and Antwerp to our own warehouses or directly to the customer. Both refrigerated reefers and dry containers.
International transport
We handle the transport of AGF, plants, floriculture products, and temperature-sensitive products throughout Europe. Our specialty? A daily groupage service departing to France, Spain, and Portugal.
National transport
We also provide daily transport in the Benelux. From Ridderkerk, we supply customers throughout the country. On time and hassle-free.
Intermodal transport
Sustainability matters. That's why we combine road transport with alternative modalities such as train, inland shipping, or shortsea. Efficient, cost-conscious, and environmentally friendly.
Flower and plant transport to Spain and France
Every day our trucks depart with flowers and plants heading to Spain and France. Fresh from the auction, directly to the customer.
Thanks to bi-temperature trailers, we keep flowers cool (+5°C) and plants at the right warmth (+17°C) in the same trip. Our drivers know the routes and know everything about flower transport and plant transport.
That way, everything remains in top condition on the way. We ensure that your fresh goods are always delivered on time and with care.
Groupage transport to Spain and France
Even for smaller shipments, you're at the right place with VDH.
We cleverly combine different loads into one trip. We call that groupage.
We offer daily groupage transport to Spain and groupage transport to France, with fixed routes and reliable delivery. Thanks to our own equipment, experienced drivers, and real-time insight via our portal, you always have control over your shipment. Does it need to be faster or tailor-made once? Then we think along with you immediately. At VDH, unburdening always comes first.

For example, by driving with double crews or swapping cars on the way. This way, we arrive faster. Technology helps with that. We work with a Transport Management System (TMS), GPS tracking, and a driver app for loading and unloading assignments.
Our new online portal gives you the ability to enter orders in the portal yourself and follow them when we pick them up for you, including all important documentation.
